Maria Ersi Koliris is an integrative chartered counseling psychologist, with a professional doctorate in psychotherapy. She has been working for 17 years in the field of mental health at hospitals, universities, NGOs and in private practice, first in the UK and then in Greece. She has been teaching Psychology since 2004 and has been a Counseling trainer since 2007. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Psychology as well as Acting Director of Psychology Programs at Hellenic American University and Director of the University Counseling Center. She also runs a private practice offering adult therapy and supervision. Since 2004, she has developed an interest in mindfulness both in her personal and professional life. She is the co-founder of the Athens Mindfulness Centre, co-facilitating mindfulness-based stress reduction programs. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a member of the Society for Psychotherapy Research, and has an active interest in the application of mindfulness-based approaches and in qualitative research in mental health.
