Marianna Xanthopoulou studied Chemistry at the Chemistry Department of University of Ioannina. She holds an MSc in Chemistry and a PhD in Bioinorganic Chemistry, in the field of anticancer agent synthesis and biological activity. She works as a Research Associate at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of Harokopio University. Her research interests include the study of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-thrombotic properties of food and food components. Recently, she received Alexander S. Onassis Foundation Scholarship in order to attend to the 63rd Lindau Nobel Laurate Meeting held in Germany. She teaches the chemistry courses in the undergraduate program at Hellenic American University.
