Eric Gutgarts is pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Entrepreneurial Leadership at Johns Hopkins University. He completed his master’s degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness at New York University and his bachelor’s degree in History from Florida International University. A teacher for several years before taking a clinical direction in his trajectory, Mr. Gutgarts currently works as a psychotherapist in New York City while contributing to research teams at both Columbia University and NYU. While receiving clinical training, he worked as a crisis counselor with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. He was awarded the 2020 Samuel Eshborn Service Award at NYU Steinhardt and the 2020 Aileen and Gilbert Schiffman Fellowship at JHU. He has presented his research at the American Psychological Association National Convention and is working on publishing manuscripts with his colleagues at NYU. His passions include business development, higher education, and psychotherapy. Mr. Gutgarts teaches in the Psychology program at Hellenic American University.
