Communicative English Teaching Test (CETT)
The Communicative English Teaching Test (CETT), which has now been discontinued, was a standardized examination for Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
The English Teaching Competency Test (ETECT) is now offered to those who wish to obtain certification at Level 5 or Level 7.
The CETT has been used by educational institutions and establishments for a number of purposes:
- Language Centers have regarded it highly when employing qualified instructors for their EFL/ESL programs, both in Greece and abroad
- Universities have used it in considering applicants for undergraduate programs in English Language and Literature
- Linguistics departments have used it in considering applicants for Master’s degree programs in Applied Linguistics
Paper 1 (Methodology) and Paper 2 (Language Awareness) aimed at Level 5 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). Paper 3 (Essays) aimed at Level 7 of the (EQF).
