Georgios Kordas received a joint PhD in theoretical physics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the University of Heidelberg. Since 2014, he has been a research associate in the Department of Physics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications and presented his research at international conferences and workshops and serves as a referee for several international physics journals. He has also taught undergraduate and graduate physics courses at the University of Heidelberg. His research focuses on open many-body quantum systems, non-equilibrium transport, ultracold atoms, Bose–Einstein condensation, and quantum information theory. He is also interested in physics education and making science accessible to the public. He is an adjunct faculty member and teaches in the BSE and BSI programs.
