Salomi Boukala is Assistant Professor of Critical Discourse Analysis at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, Greece, and Visiting Scholar at Newcastle University, UK. Her research specializes in Greek political discourse, with a broader focus on argumentation theory and Critical Discourse Studies, where she has published extensively. She is the author of European Identity and the Representation of Islam in the Mainstream Press: Argumentation and Media Discourse (Palgrave, 2019) and co-author of the forthcoming book The Language of Politics and the Greek Paradigm (Springer, 2025). In 2020, she co-edited the first volume on Critical Discourse Analysis published in Greece (Nissos Academic Publishing). Her research interests include the discursive construction of political and (supra)national identities, political rhetoric, discriminatory discourse, antisemitism, ethnographic approaches, and media discourses. She is also Principal Investigator of the research project CRITIC (Crisis Narratives: Beyond Pandemic Discourses in Greece), funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (2025-28). She is a visiting faculty member and teaches in the Doctoral program at Hellenic American University.
Nicholas Zouvanis holds a BA in Transcultural Communication from the University of Vienna and an MA in Conference Interpreting from the Aristotle University Thessaloniki. After completing his studies, in 2019, he has been working as a freelance conference interpreter and translator, with Greek, English, and German as his working languages. Nicholas is an adjunct faculty member teaching in the MACI program.
Teresa Asoniti studied Greek Literature at NKUA and holds an Advanced Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and a B.A. in English Language and Literature, both from Hellenic American University. She has been teaching English and Greek as a foreign language since 2001 to young children, adolescents and adults. Ms. Asoniti teaches in the General Education program at Hellenic American University as an adjunct faculty member.
Xenia Sakellari has been a communications professional in media and advertising industry for over 10 years. With a background in journalism and copywriting she is currently working as Creative Director for Mediabrands, leading a team of experts in designing digital and integrated marketing communication campaigns. She holds an M.A. in Communication Strategy & PR and a Foundation Certificate from the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising. Before joining Mediabrands, she worked for media organizations such as Pepper fm, Menta fm, and theHellenic Parliament Channel etc) and advertising agencies. . For her work in the advertising industry, she has been honored numerous awards, including Ermis Awards, Social Media Awards, and Iab Mixx Awards. . Xenia is an adjunct faculty member teaching in the MAT program.
Katerina Anastasopoulou graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation, and Interpretation of the Ionian University in Greece in 2017 and from the Master of Arts in Conference Interpreting of the Hellenic American University in 2021. She is currently attending the Master of Science in Language Technology at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens in collaboration with the ATHENA Research Center. Since 2016, she has been a professional freelance translator and Interpreter, specializing in audiovisual translation and subtitling, as a translator and proofreader, and working with leading companies in the industry, both Greek and international. Katerina is an adjunct faculty member teaching in the MAT program.
