School Tests for Young Learners of English (STYLE™)
The School Tests for Young Learners of English (STYLE™) are designed for young learners aged 7-12 who would like an objective assessment of their competency in English as a second or other language at the elementary level. The tests are at 4 levels: STYLE Level 1 is aimed at the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), STYLE Level 2 is intended to bridge the A1 and A2 levels, STYLE Level 3 is aimed at mid A2 level, while STYLE Level 4 bridges the A2 and B1 levels. The tests are specifically designed to be stimulating and motivating for young learners through the use of age-appropriate tasks, pictures and layout.
The School Tests for Young Learners of English are developed and scored by Hellenic American University. All parts of the examination are written following specific guidelines and test specifications. Items are pre-tested to ensure standardization and validity. Care is taken that the tests are fair and accessible to all candidates.
Communicative competency in all four language skills is tested: reading, writing, listening, and speaking, as well as vocabulary and grammar resources.
